John is the co-founding Partner of EvCap. J.R. oversees and manages the acquisition, syndication, entitlement, development and disposition of EvCap’s commercial real estate holdings. J.R. originally served as EvCap’s outside general counsel and was one of its earliest investors prior to formally joining the company as Partner. Building on his background and expertise as a corporate and commercial real estate attorney, J.R. has helped drive EvCap’s growth since joining the company, leading the charge on corporate structuring for all of EvCap’s entities, legal and business due diligence on all EvCap assets, contract negotiations with EvCap’s tenants, lenders, vendors and JV partners, and management of EvCap’s employees and contractors.

In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and son (much of which is spent on the lacrosse & soccer fields). Kate is an avid player of all racquet sports, and enjoys yoga and golf.

With her excellent interpersonal skills, she solidifies key relationships with EvCap’s partners, brokers, lenders, developers, legal, and risk management professionals.
Desiree is a seasoned real estate professional who began her career over 15 years ago as a Transactional Real Estate Attorney where she represented private borrowers, lenders and mortgage servicers closing complicated real estate transactions including workouts and foreclosures. She’s held prior positions in the legal department of American Homes 4 Rent and has previously worked with NorthMarq Capital, Money360 and Red Oak Capital. A native of Orange County, Desiree holds her Bachelors of Arts from UCLA and a law degree from New England Law.
Outside of work, Desiree enjoys spending time with her baseball-coaching husband and two (talented, ball-playing) sons, enjoying the OC beach lifestyle, and volunteering her time by teaching children’s cooking classes on the weekends.
